Tomatis has finally come out of the office and into the world!
I am so excited to have a way to share this exciting approach to auditory training with you all.
At Listen for Change, We have been using the revolutionary portable Solisten device to help people change their lives one sound at a time. Based on over 65 years of solid scientific research, it is now possible to efficiently, effectively and economically provide interventions for adults and children with issues as wide and varied as:
- sensory integration processing disorders;
- attention deficits;
- memory lapses and losses;
- inability to concentrate;
- learning difficulties;
- expressive, receptive and acquisition of new language capability;
- emotional problems;
- inappropriate behavior; and
- many other problems.
Recipients of this intensive auditory training program have seen significant short term and ongoing benefits that have improved not only their lives but those of their close family and friends. On future posts, I will share with you many cases of the successes that we have achieved. I will also provide insights into how auditory processing can have an impact on conditions that may not automatically be obvious.
Most importantly, I want to hear your questions, thoughts and ideas and to ignite a debate that has been a long time in the making.
So thank you for stopping by! I hope that this is a start of a rewarding and beneficial relationship for us all.

As a mid forty year old male who has suffered with moderate to severer hearing loss in predominately one ear practically since birth, the insights into my own life long battle with deficiencies, challenges and demons have been no less then jaw dropping. For instance my failure to learn a second language my seemingly inability at times to pickup on even non verbal clues ie blindness to body language as a result of a lack of overall sensitivity to granular details have hindered my ability to communicate optimally throughout my life leading sometimes to passive aggressive behavior or a subtle form of bipolar behavior ie a short distance between hot and cold. I have learned to work around most of my deficiencies however at tines to a great personal cost.
This maybe T M I but I did want to illustrate the internal cord which was struck by gaining this insight into my long established hearing problems. I can not help but to ponder how much more sucessful I would have been in life had I discovered this as a child or teen.
Thank you very much!
Jim,
Thank you for writing. I am excited to share with you the results of work I did recently with a 56 year old woman with structural hearing and resulting listening issues since birth. The changes she experienced through Tomatis listening with the SoListen device were so extraordinary that I was as pleasantly surprised as she was! In fact, I am presenting my work with her at the International Tomatis Consultants Conference in Panama April of this year. Please don’t assume that you cannot make significant changes because of your age. I have now worked with several adults with issues of memory, tone deafness, reactive depression, post traumatic stress, attention and language. I feel comfortable saying that a significant change was documented in the vast majority of these experiences. Good Luck and stay in touch!
